History

In 2006 Andrea Schmitt obtained the Winery “Adolf Schmitt” from her father. She and her husband Michael bought the König Johann Vineyard and started to improve the Adolf Schmitt Winery. In this time Michael visited school again and graduated as Winemaker in January 2010.  With the 2009 Vintage they developed their style of natural fermented and hand selected wines. Now it is was more then logical to rename the Winery to “Weingut König Johann im Saartal”.
